An evening of Romanian traditional/romani music, featuring the cimbalom (tambal), a very special instrument that plays a central role in Romanian music. With its vibrant and hauntingly beautiful sound and percussive nature, it provides rhythmic drive and emotional expressiveness of the music.
KELMO! plays traditional/Roma music from Romania and the Balkans. Kelmo! means “Dance!” in Romani. Come dance. With Marco Ghezzo on violin, Balder ten Cate on cimbalom, Leo Peringer on bass/cello and Sean Tergis on percussion.
