Kali Orkestar is a brand new brass band in the Bay Area. Led by life-long friends Benji Rifati (trumpet) and Tano Brock (sax, clarinet), Kali Orkestar plays traditional Romani brass music from the Balkans, with modern inspirations.
Palamidhi is a Greek folk ensemble comprised of Nick Maroussis, Greg Jenkins and friends. Experienced in the many regional styles of Greece, Nick (guitar, bouzouki) and Greg (baglama, clarinet, vocals) masterfully reproduce Greek standards as well as original compositions.
Doors are at 8pm. Palamidhi will start with an hour or so of Greek tunes, followed by the debut of Kali Orkestar!
