We have prepared an exciting and rich four-day long musical and cultural program with amazing moments to remember. Be ready to enjoy а diverse array of Bulgarian and Slavic folk-dance groups from the Bay Area and from as far as Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, San Diego, San Jose and Sacramento! We are happy to have on our side a true feast of musical groups and styles such as the VARIMEZOV Family, FANFARE ZAMBALETA Brass band, MERAKLII, ANTIKA SLAVIC CLASSICAL STRINGS(it’s their 10th anniversary!), BALKANTON 340, a special RHODPE GAJDA group. You can also enjoy workshops, art exhibits, a special kids program, Bulgarian culinary delights, and more! Do not miss our one of a kind Folk dance tour/journey!

Here is briefly how the 4 day festivities will look like:
Day 1: Festival Opening Day
Fri, May 19, 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Dine and meet the guests of the Festival: special guests from New York, Chicago, and Bulgaria, and our guest dance groups from Canada, Seattle, and Los Angeles. The dinner will be followed by live music and dance concert and dance party! Location: The Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church “Saints Kiril and Metodi” (1551 Shell Ave, Martinez, CA)
Day 2: The 17th Annual SAINTS KIRIL and METODII BULGARIAN ARTS and CULTURE FESTIVAL
Saturday, May 20, 2:30 pm – 11:30 pm
This is, as always, the main event of ANTIKA BULGARIA FEST. It has been happening for 17 years now. Enjoy workshops for adults and children and the relatively new “Antika Bulgaria’s Got Talent” show (it was a big success last year!), the GRAND OPENING with the golden Sts Kiril and Methody icon ritual, SPIRIT OF RHODOPE Mountain, a tribute to Vasil Bebelekov… and much more! You will also be able to enjoy delicious dinner by Chef Hristo!
The festival takes place, as always, at the Croatian-American Cultural Center (60 Onondaga Ave, San Francisco).
Day 3: The San Francisco 3rd Annual BULGARIAN FOLK FESTIVAL ON WHEELS and FOLK-DANCING JOURNEY
Sunday, May 21, 10:30 am – 5:30 pm
Let us take you around town on our magical village bus (or buses!) and dance at the Big Bulgarian Horo at San Francisco’s most favorite & famous locations with lively live music and Bulgarians & friends dressed in royal village attire. The starting and ending address is Antika Bulgaria’s Dance Studio (10837 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito, CA 94804).

Sunday, May 21, 7:30 – 11:30 pm
DINNER, CONCERT, and AFTER-and-GOOD-BYE DANCE PARTY with all of the dance groups, volunteers and friends

Day 4: Festival Closing Day: RETURN of THE ICON in the monastery RITUAL
Monday, May 22, 11:00 am – 3:30 pm
Live music, concert, lunch, relax and last GOOD BYE “till next year ” at the beautiful Holy Cross Monastery (34700 Palomares, Castro Valley, CA).
